The Directorate of Research, Technology, and Innovation (ATID) began operating in September 2017 as a unit affiliated with the Rectorate and has continued its activities since 2018 under the Vice-Rectorate responsible for Research. Activities are carried out through the Projects and Intellectual Property Office, IstasyonTEDU – Social Innovation Center, Entrepreneurship Office – TEDU-GO, and TEDUTECH Inc.
Projects and Intellectual Property Office:
The Projects and Intellectual Property Office is responsible for increasing the university’s external funding capacity and managing the processes related to patenting outputs obtained from research. In addition to organizing one-on-one meetings with TEDU academics to guide them toward suitable national/international grant programs, the office also announces national and international calls via university-wide emails.
In this context, the Office manages both internal funding programs such as the TEDU Institutional Research Funds (TEDU-IRF), the TEDU Undergraduate Student Scientific Research Fund (TEDU-LAD), and the B2024 Conference Participation Support Program for Undergraduate and Graduate Students; and also works closely with academics and students in the preparation of projects funded by national and international external sources.
IstasyonTEDU – Social Innovation Center:
Social entrepreneurship and social innovation are among TEDU’s selected fields of excellence in research and practice and are coordinated by the IstasyonTEDU Social Innovation Center.
Established on April 8, 2016, IstasyonTEDU operates under ATID as a multifunctional production space aiming to support social innovation processes within TEDU’s vision of being an innovative urban university. Bringing together actors from various disciplines and platforms who are working on social impact, IstasyonTEDU is a creative ideas lab and social incubation center that seeks innovative solutions to current social problems.
The center plays a key role in TEDU’s development as an active social actor, aiming to use its institutional capacity, academic knowledge base, and students’ creative potential to generate positive social change both locally (in Ankara and Turkey) and globally, serving as a best-practice model.

In this context, TEDU-GO Virtual Incubation provides support to entrepreneurs who wish to engage in technology-focused classical entrepreneurship. The incubation service supports the entire process from the formation of business ideas to business plan writing, company establishment, and access to funding.
